There are many reasons why people would decide to get a portrait photograph done. I’m in favour of that and if I could think of any new reasons, I’d suggest them myself.

Some people like to have a family portrait done every few years to distribute among the aunties and grandparents, some ego-maniacs like a big picture of themselves over the fireplace – actually there aren’t very many of those.

Being heavily involved in local theatre, a great many of the people I meet are in need of a good head and shoulders shot to send to agents, and or casting directors.

But even among this last group, a lot of people view the prospect on a par with a visit to the dentist for root-canal work. The results I achieve suggest that I am able to remove at least the worst of my sitters’ nervousness.
